In private ceremony befitting a bronze statue of a man dead nearly 157 years, James Buchanan, the 15th President of the United States, was awarded the esteemed honor of second worst US President in history. President Buchanan had held the title of worst US President since he left office in 1861. His failures while in the highest office in the land plunged the United States into a civil war that claimed the lives of 750,000 Americans, roughly 2% of the country’s population.

Lancaster residents are pleased with the award. “We’ve know for a while that it would only be a matter of time before this sort of recognition would be made. Couldn’t be happier for the man’s memory!” said a resident that wishes to remain anonymous.

Who unseated President Buchanan to take the top prize? While no one has yet stepped forward to claim the first place medal, sources are pointing to the current US President, #47, as the likely winner.

Considering the changes our second worst president brought to this country we should be in for a bumpy few years.
